Unions (I)

What we can see from the history of ILWU or any contemporary union?

In the modern era, any organization that’s selling itself as “we will be permanent and negotiate a better deal for you” cannot be an organization which says “we will force the assembly-line speed to reduce by 10% (or even 1%)” because forcing even that is incompatible with being permanent (because is actively, globally mobile). The organization can still be a “fair broker” but that is a different “deal”.
